Privacy in the ffmVPN demo

This notice explains how the local demo handles information. It uses no external SMS, payment or analytics services.

This document applies to the current demonstration. Stated pricing and cancellation details are shown as product information, but the demo cannot create a subscription or process a payment.

1. Information processed

When you use the sign-up demo, the mobile number is validated within the current request and is not sent to an external service. Only a masked representation is stored temporarily in the server-side session for the simulated flow.

The complete mobile number and PIN are not stored in the demo session.

2. Cookies

A necessary session cookie keeps track of your current step in the demo. A language preference stores your choice between Norwegian and English.

The cookies are not used for advertising tracking or profiling.

3. No transfer to third parties

This version sends no information to Link Mobility, STReX, a payment provider, analytics services or any other external APIs.

4. ffmVPN’s no-activity-logs promise

ffmVPN does not store logs of your online activity or traffic. This applies to activity and traffic logs generated by VPN use.

Any necessary processing of account, security, support and billing information for a later commercial service will be described separately and completely before launch.

5. Retention

The active flow state becomes invalid after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity or when the browser session ends. Expired session files are removed by the server’s session mechanism. You can also restart the demo to remove the active flow state.

The language preference may be stored for up to one year.

6. Security and data minimisation

The session cookie is HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. Forms use a security token against unwanted requests. The demo does not persist the complete mobile number.

7. Before commercial launch

The data controller, contact details, legal bases, recipients, retention periods and rights under applicable privacy rules will be described completely before commercial launch.
